Carlsmed Launches aprevo® Lumbar Bi-lateral Posterior System

CARLSBAD, Calif., Oct. 14, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Carlsmed, Inc. (Nasdaq: CARL) (“Carlsmed” or the “Company”), today announced the U.S. commercial launch of its aprevo® Lumbar Bi-lateral Posterior System at the North American Spine Society’s 41st Annual Meeting (NASS) in San Antonio, TX. The launch follows a limited market evaluation that commenced in February 2026, with the first in human procedure completed on February 10, 2026.

“The launch of the Bi-lateral System further expands our proprietary technology platform to enable a direct posterior approach for personalized spine fusion,” said Mike Cordonnier, Chairman and CEO of Carlsmed. “The Bi-lateral System is optimized to support planned three-dimensional correction of the spine with maximal surface area contact.”

“Since its initial release, aprevo® has established itself as a valuable tool in my surgical armamentarium, allowing me to achieve a new level of patient specificity in my procedures,” stated Dr. CJ Kleck of University of Colorado. “I have been impressed with the results achieved and look forward to utilizing the technology when appropriate for my patients.”

“I see great potential in this system for patients who may benefit from a posterior approach,” added Dr. Joshua Bakhsheshian of Mayo Clinic, who will be sharing his clinical experience with aprevo® Bi-lateral at NASS. “Carlsmed’s technology has enabled a greater level of patient specificity in preoperative planning, with the potential to contribute to improved long-term patient outcomes.”

Carlsmed’s Bi-lateral System leverages the Company’s technology platform, which combines proprietary AI-enabled software and clinical intelligence to deliver surgeon-specific three-dimensional surgical plans and patient-specific fusion devices across a broad range of spinal pathologies.
