Zelenskyy Strengthens Defense Ties with Norway During Oslo Visit
Zelenskyy said he briefed the Crown Prince on the latest developments in the war, including ongoing Russian attacks and the current situation along the front lines. “I thank Crown Prince Haakon of Norway for the meeting. I informed him about the ongoing Russian strikes and the situation on the frontline,” Zelenskyy said on the US social media platform X.
He added that Russian strikes on Ukrainian territory continue, prompting Kyiv to intensify efforts to reinforce its air defense systems and deepen cooperation with international partners.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine is working to build a long-term strategic partnership with Norway in the defense and security sector. He emphasized interest in developing a mutually beneficial framework, including cooperation on drone technology that could strengthen the military capabilities of both countries.
“I thank Norway, its government, and all its people for supporting Ukraine. I am grateful for the allocation of €9 billion in assistance for this year. This is important for Ukraine,” he added.
Earlier during the visit, Zelenskyy also met with Speaker Gharahkhani and representatives of various political parties, where he expressed appreciation for their continued backing. He thanked Norwegian lawmakers for what he described as their consistent and strong support since the start of Russia’s military aggression.
