Turkey’s FM to join Paris summit of Coalition of the Willing
The summit is expected to focus on ongoing efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine, developments in draft peace plans, and the coalition’s role in providing security guarantees for the country.
Representing President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Fidan is set to emphasize that Türkiye continues to advocate for a peaceful resolution to the Russia-Ukraine war through result-oriented diplomatic initiatives, in line with Erdogan’s vision. He will also highlight that Istanbul hosted three rounds of negotiations in 2025, producing tangible outcomes, particularly in humanitarian areas such as prisoner exchanges.
Fidan is expected to reaffirm Türkiye’s readiness to host direct talks between the parties in the coming period and underscore Ankara’s strategic priority of maintaining stability in the Black Sea, a stance that has been communicated to all involved parties.
The Coalition of the Willing, launched with a Ukraine-focused leaders’ summit in London on March 2, 2025, has held numerous meetings throughout the year. Fidan represented Türkiye at the May 10 summit, while President Erdogan addressed virtual summits on March 15 and November 25. Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz participated in online meetings on August 13, 17, 19, September 4, October 24, and December 11, 2025.
