Turkey’s wildfire moves to living areas in Northwestern

(MENAFN) Reports indicate that a forest fire in the central district of Canakkale province in northwestern Türkiye intensified on Wednesday due to strong winds, with flames approaching nearby residential areas.

Turkish authorities have deployed 11 firefighting aircraft and 250 personnel to contain the blaze, according to reports.

In recent days, forest fires have erupted across several regions of Türkiye, including Antalya, Canakkale, Edirne, Manisa, Hatay, Bolu, and Izmir.

Tragically, local media reported that one forestry worker was killed and four others were injured when their firefighting vehicle lost control while en route to battle the fire in the Hasanbeyli district of Osmaniye.
