Meanwhile, authorities in East China's Zhejiang province have halted all passenger shipping routes amid preparations for the incoming typhoon. The local maritime bureau has activated a level II emergency response as Typhoon Danas approaches.
China's National Meteorological Center issued a yellow warning early Monday for Danas, which made landfall in Taiwan around midnight. The storm is forecast to reach the coastal regions of Zhejiang and Fujian provinces by Tuesday.
Construction on wind farms has been suspended, and all vessels involved in wind power projects have been relocated to secure waters.
After striking Taiwan, Danas downgraded from a severe typhoon to a typhoon, with maximum sustained winds near its core measuring approximately 40 meters (131 feet) per second, the National Meteorological Center reported.
The typhoon is expected to make landfall between Taizhou in Zhejiang and Fuzhou in Fujian between Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Heavy to torrential rainfall is predicted across parts of Zhejiang and Taiwan. The meteorological bureau warns of torrential rains in numerous areas of Zhejiang and Fujian, including localized zones facing extremely heavy downpours on Tuesday.
